How do I determine if I need a Vertical (VFFS) or Horizontal (Flow Wrapper) packaging machine?
The choice depends on your product's physical state. Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines are ideal for loose, granular, or liquid products (like chips, grains, sauces, or frozen vegetables) that can drop via gravity. Horizontal Flow Wrappers are best for solid, individual items (like bread bars, cookies, or trays) that must remain flat during the packaging process.
Can one packaging machine handle multiple bag sizes?
Yes, our machines can handle various bag lengths and widths. Changing the bag length is usually done quickly via the PLC touch screen. However, changing the bag width requires replacing the "bag former" (forming shoulder), which takes about 15-20 minutes and requires purchasing additional formers for each specific width.
What type of packaging film materials are compatible with HSYL machines?
Our machines generally work with complex heat-sealable laminated films (e.g., PET/AL/PE, PET/PE, Paper/PE). If you are using single-layer PE (Polyethylene) film, please inform us in advance, as this requires a special impulse sealing device rather than constant heat sealing jaws.
Does the machine support Nitrogen Flushing (MAP) to extend shelf life?
Yes, Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) or Nitrogen flushing is available as an optional add-on. This is highly recommended for fresh foods, baked goods, or fried snacks to displace oxygen inside the bag, preventing oxidation and keeping the product fresh for longer.
What determines the packing speed (bags per minute)?
Speed depends on three factors: the flowability of your product, the sealing time required by the film material, and the bag length. For example, a heavy 1kg bag of sticky product will pack slower than a 50g bag of free-flowing granules. We will provide a specific speed estimate based on your sample testing.
Do I need a separate weighing system for this packaging machine?
The packaging machine only forms and seals the bag. To dispense the correct weight, you need a dosing system integrated with it. We commonly pair our packers with Multi-head Weighers (for snacks/granular), Auger Fillers (for powders), or Liquid Piston Pumps (for sauces) depending on your product.
Is the machine easy to clean for food hygiene standards?
Yes, all contact parts are made of Food Grade Stainless Steel (SS304/316). The design allows for quick disassembly of the hopper and forming set for cleaning. For wet environments, we offer IP65-rated construction which allows for wash-down procedures.
What happens if the packaging film runs out or tears during operation?
The machine is equipped with automatic sensors. If the film runs out, breaks, or if the color mark eye-tracking fails, the machine will automatically stop and sound an alarm to prevent waste and protect the sealing jaws.
How much space do I need for a complete packaging line?
A standard vertical packaging system (including the bucket elevator, weigher platform, and discharge conveyor) typically requires a ceiling height of at least 3.5 to 4 meters. The floor footprint is generally around 3m x 3m. We can provide a custom layout drawing based on your factory floor plan.
Are spare parts universal or proprietary?
We use standard components from globally recognized brands for key electrical parts (e.g., Siemens or Mitsubishi PLC, Omron temperature controllers, Schneider electrics) to ensure you can find replacements locally. Consumable parts like heating elements, cutter blades, and Teflon belts should be stocked from us.
