Electric and steam heating for a crate washer should be compared on a common washing duty and site-service basis. The choice depends on the proposed machine design, available utilities and operating conditions; an energy tariff alone cannot decide the installation.

Ask the crate washer supplier which heating options are actually available for the offered model. Obtain the relevant engineering requirements before assuming that a different energy source can be substituted.

Fix the same operating duty

State the crate family, return profile, cleaning requirements, startup condition and usable working window. Separate initial heating from the demand during normal operation and planned cleaning. A comparison with different operating assumptions will not isolate the heating choice.

Automatic Crate Washer Machine. HSYL website equipment reference; the supplied configuration must be confirmed for the project.
  1. Site supply. Confirm electrical service and connection; Confirm steam supply conditions.
  2. Included equipment. Identify controls and installed heating scope; Identify steam interface and associated components.
  3. Return or discharge. Confirm the proposed arrangement; Identify condensate responsibilities.
  4. Operating evidence. Measure the defined duty; Measure the same defined duty.

Check the installed site conditions

The electrical review belongs with qualified site personnel and the machine supplier. For steam, coordinate the supply route, quality requirements, pressure conditions and condensate arrangement with the responsible specialists. Do not infer compatibility from the existence of a nearby service connection.

Consider whether other factory demands coincide with washer startup. A service available during an empty-factory demonstration may behave differently when production is fully active.

Include the complete supply scope

Distinguish equipment included in the washer offer from building services, distribution work, inspections and ongoing maintenance. The washing cost assessment should use the same treatment of these boundaries for both alternatives.

Where metered evidence is available, record the operating state, accepted crate output and the measured energy source. Keep estimated and measured values visibly separate. Do not present a universal percentage saving without a defined baseline and configuration.

Record the selection decision

The decision should identify the offered machine option, site confirmation, unresolved responsibilities and the evidence supporting expected operation. If startup demand or service availability remains uncertain, resolve that issue before treating either offer as installation-ready.
