Canned Fish Production Process — Plant Engineering Guide
Practical engineering guide to canned fish production process flow: preprocessin...
Vacuum can seamer for canned fish with retort-grade double seam, 3,000-5,500 cph, CE/USDA/BRC-capable. Request layout design and quote now.
This vacuum can seamer is engineered for canned fish applications where seam integrity, headspace control and oil/brine retention are critical. It is designed to handle fish chunks, sauces and marine oils while matching the pace of industrial seafood canning lines and meeting strict retort preparation requirements.
| Model | Capacity | Can Diameter | Seamer Head Count | Vacuum Level | Seam Type | Power | Air Consumption | Material | Weight | Dimensions |

| VCS-300 | 5,500 cans/h | Ø52–73 mm | 6 | 45–70 mbar | Double seam | 8.6 kW | 0.85 m³/h @ 0.6 MPa | SUS304 / SUS316L | 1,760 kg | 3,550×1,260×2,000 mm |
The seamer combines a vacuum hood, precision seaming rollers and a segmented can index plate. After the can enters the vacuum zone, the headspace is reduced to 45–80 mbar and air is drawn out. The first and second seaming operations then capture the lid with a uniform double seam controlled by adjustable seam pitch and roller pressure.
Control logic uses an industrial PLC and color HMI to manage vacuum pump output, can timing and seamer head torque. Proximity sensors, pressure transducers and can present switches are synchronized with a frequency converter, providing stable motion for fish canning speeds and viscous filling liquids.
This structure is particularly suitable for canned fish because it minimizes oil and brine carryover into the seam area, supports heavy fish chunks, and keeps the can path straight through critical sealing stages.
For a seafood plant, the vacuum can seamer sits directly after the fish can filling station and before any leak detection, sealer and retort entry. It is compatible with an automatic fish canning production line and can be matched to upstream can orienters, lid present detectors and downstream pressure-decay inspection.
The machine can also interface with line PLC networks for recipe changes and batch traceability, which helps operations that switch between tuna, sardine, mackerel or mixed seafood formulas during the same shift.
Hongsheng Yuanlin supplies the vacuum can seamer with documentation for CE electrical panels, food-contact material certificates, and BRC-friendly washdown procedures. We offer OEM configuration for can diameter, lid type and voltage, plus FAT, SAT and commissioning support in seafood export facilities.
Our package includes spare sets of seaming rollers, vacuum pump filters, gasket kits and a detailed maintenance schedule so the line remains compliant in high-moisture fish processing environments.
