Canned Fish Production Process — Plant Engineering Guide
Practical engineering guide to canned fish production process flow: preprocessin...
Industrial fish can filling machine for tuna, sardine and seafood canning lines. 3,600-8,000 cans/h, CE/USDA/BRC-capable, turnkey line design support.
This industrial fish can filling machine is engineered for high-volume seafood processors that need stable portioning for tuna, sardine, salmon and mixed seafood formulas. The system addresses overfill, air pocketing, and hygiene risks in brine, oil and sauce-filled cans while supporting turnkey fish canning line planning.

The core filling logic combines a positive-displacement piston pump with a servo-controlled filler head. The machine draws product from a heated supply hopper and meters it through a food-grade valve assembly, while pressure sensors and proportional pneumatic actuators maintain consistent volume for each can.
A stainless steel paddle agitator keeps particulate moving in the hopper, and an integrated vacuum degassing port prevents foam and air bubbles from entering the can. The drive train uses a frequency-conversion motor for stable cycle speed, while the frame is welded and polished to meet sanitary design standards.
Key components include a Siemens/Schneider PLC, 7-inch HMI, level switches, proximity sensors, and a servo indexing table. This structure is especially suitable for fish-based products because it handles varying viscosities and particulate sizes without damaging the can or compromising fill consistency.
In a canned seafood production scenario, this filler is installed after fish cooking, portioning and sauce mixing, and before the can seamer and sterilizer. It supports can lines that run 52–73 mm diameter containers and keeps cycle timing aligned with downstream retort pacing.
When connected to a turnkey canned food production line, the machine can be grouped with upstream fish peelers, blanchers and automatic powder dosing systems. The design also supports downstream sealing, leak detection and inspection systems to meet batch traceability requirements.
Hongsheng Yuanlin provides this fish can filling machine with a full documentation package, including P&ID, wiring diagrams, FAT checklist, and operation manuals. We support OEM customization for can size, recipe changeover and local voltage requirements.
Project delivery includes factory acceptance testing, on-site commissioning, spare parts kits and global after-sales support. The machine is engineered for seafood plants that require CE-approved electrical panels, USDA food-contact finish and BRC-compatible hygienic layout.
